Service Overview
BALANCED FOOD:
A balanced diet means
consuming adequate proportion of macronutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, and
fats) along with essential micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) through a
varied and consistent diet.
A balanced diet is
flexible, adaptable, and can look different for each person depending on their
age, activity level, health status, and cultural food preferences.
Nutritionists, parents and
caregivers play an important role in ensuring children receive the essential
nutrients they need to grow and succeed in life.
BREASTFEEDING &
COMPLIMENTARY FEEDING:
Breastfeeding is recommended
to be continued along with complimentary foods for at-least up to two years of
age.
Breast milk alone is not
adequate for the growth & development of a baby when the baby turns six
months. To meet the higher nutritional requirements of infants from six months
onwards & promote optimal growth in infants, breast milk feeding needs to
be complemented with feeding of other foods.
WE HELP PARENTS TO HOW &
WHAT TO INTRODUCE A COMPLEMENTARY FOODS IN BABIES.
BENEFITS OF BALANCED
NUTRITION :
1.Boost the physical growth
of children i.e. muscles, bones & organs of the body.
2.Enhance the cognitive
functions of the brain like memory, perception, concentration, multi-tasking,
academic performance, emotional resilience etc
3.Improves immunity of the
child by fighting the infections & protecting against sickness.
4.Improving the quality of children’s foods and feeding practices
in the earliest years of life is the cornerstone of preventing malnutrition in
all its forms.
5.Creating valuable and good
eating habits are important lessons that must be learnt early in life. Studies have shown that
adults who had a nutritionally balanced childhood have lesser instances of high
cholesterol or high blood pressure. These individuals also have lesser chances
of developing diabetes, heart disease, and cancer.
We must change the kind of
food we give to the child according to his age, gender & activity level.
Different ages & activity require different ratios of nutrients and
quantities of calories.
